Winter is here!

And now it’s time to search for your sweaters, pullovers and what else? How about some healthy drinks to keep you warm?

Winter is no doubt a beautiful season. In fact, the best time in the UAE. However, if you don’t take proper care of yourself, it’s pretty easy to fall prey to a cold, cough and flu. So here are some healthy drinks that will boost your metabolism in winters.

Herbal Tea

If you are a tea lover, try out some herbal tea this winter. Ginger tea, lemon tea, green tea and pepper mint tea … all have medicinal values and will keep you warm and fresh. And it’s so easy to prepare at home. You can either buy tea bags in the flavour you like or boil a pot at home with fresh ingredients from your pantry.

Turmeric Milk

Turmeric milk or ‘haldi’ milk is traditionally used in India to boost immunity and detoxify the body. Get ready to fight communicable diseases by having a glass of turmeric milk every day. Its anti -inflammatory properties make it effective in alleviating muscle and joint pain.

Cinnamon Water/Milk

Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is also beneficial for your heart and lowers blood sugar levels. Cinnamon can be used to prepare a variety of drinks both with milk and without milk.

Hot Lemon Water

Lemons are rich in Vitamin-C and will boost immunity and lower the risk of heart disease. Hot lemon water removes toxins from the body, keeping you hydrated and warm. Hot lemon water is a perfect choice to start your day with.

Following a healthy diet is almost a no-brainer when it comes to keeping fit and keeping diseases at bay. It plays a vital role in building your immunity. Make sure to add a variety of physical activities and exercise too.
