Ashtanga-Vinyasa Yoga at Pratimoksha
The Essence of Ashtanga Yoga: Strength, Flexibility, and Inner Balance
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and structured practice that synchronizes breath with a progressive series of postures. This method enhances strength, flexibility, and mental clarity.
Vinyasa means “the flow”
Ashtanga Yoga involves linking movement with breath in a fixed sequence of postures (asanas). This synchronization, known as vinyasa, creates a moving meditation that enhances physical endurance, concentration, and inner balance. The practice is traditionally divided into six series:
- Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa): Detoxifies the body and builds foundational strength and flexibility.
- Intermediate Series (Nadi Shodhana): Cleanses the nervous system and enhances energy flow.
- Advanced Series (Sthira Bhaga): Develops extreme strength and grace for seasoned practitioners.
Vinyasa Yoga emphasizes fluid movement and breath synchronization, creating a seamless flow between poses. This style offers a creative and varied practice, promoting cardiovascular health and mindfulness. Our classes are tailored to accommodate both beginners and advanced practitioners, focusing on building strength, flexibility, and balance.
Pratimoksha offers classes for beginners and advanced Yoga seekers.
