Most people know where it hurts. Far fewer know why. A stiff neck gets blamed on the pillow, a sore lower back on the drive down Sheikh Zayed Road, and the pattern underneath goes unexamined for years.
From 11 to 14 November, Pratimoksha is offering free one-on-one Yoga Body Check consultations at our yoga studio in Oud Metha. They fall in the middle of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which runs from 31 October to 29 November this year, as reported by Gulf News. While much of Dubai works toward 30 minutes of activity a day, this is a chance to understand the body doing the moving, through the eyes of a classical yoga teacher.
To book, message us on WhatsApp or call 050 395 5613.
What the yoga consultation covers
Each consultation is one-on-one with a Pratimoksha yoga teacher and has two parts:
- Structural analysis. How the body stands, sits and moves: where the weight falls, which side works harder, how the spine, shoulders and hips line up, and which daily habits are adding strain.
- Body type analysis. An assessment of constitution through the Ayurvedic lens of vata, pitta and kapha, which shapes the kind of yoga practice, pace and routine that suits each person.
Every visitor leaves with a clearer picture of their own patterns and practical yoga suggestions for what to do next. The consultation is free of charge. Its usual value is AED 200.
This is guidance from experienced yoga teachers, not a medical diagnosis. Anyone managing a diagnosed condition should mention it when booking.
Why our yoga starts with assessment
The approach comes from our founder, Lalitha Viswanath, a manual osteopath and Yoga Acharya with more than 20 years of teaching yoga in Dubai. Her reasoning is simple. A practice built on guesswork tends to repeat the same strain, while a practice built on how one particular body is put together can begin to correct it. The same thinking runs through our yoga therapy programs and our classical Ayur Yoga classes.
Dates and times
Consultations run by appointment at the studio:
- Wednesday 11, Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November: 7:00 am to 12:30 pm, and 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- Saturday 14 November: 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm only
Slots are limited to around eight a day and are confirmed in the order people book.
Booking a Yoga Body Check
- Message us on WhatsApp or call 050 395 5613.
- Share the day and time that suit you.
- We confirm the slot and send directions to the studio.
The studio is at Suite 206, Safina Towers, Oud Metha, a short drive from Dubai Healthcare City, Karama and Bur Dubai.
A welcome offer for new yoga students
When a consultation leads to a regular practice, the AED 150 registration fee is waived for anyone who joins before 30 November. Our yoga classes are led by full-time teachers who can build directly on what the Body Check showed.
Plenty of people in Dubai service their car more often than they check how their own body is holding up. One hour of yoga assessment in November is a good place to change that. Reserve a slot on WhatsApp, or contact us with any questions.
